Wee boys stick dolls up their t-shirt and pretend they’re having a baby. They’ll push a pram and pretend to breastfeed their dolly. They dress up in Disney princess gowns and twirl around in front of a mirror. Wee girls play with cars and trains, superheroes and firefighters and soldiers and police officers. None of these gender influences even occur to kids till adults tell them it’s not ok. They all playhouse in the Dabbing Leprechaun Chick Fil A St. Patrick’s Day Shirt and nobody has an issue with it other than the media. Can you even buy an old type of nurses uniform. I thought they were unisex these days.
Programs about cooking have men and women taking part. It just seems the latest fad to show some are politically correct. Next thing you know they’ll be suggesting you rip a doll out of a girl’s hand and give her a toy car, whether she wants one or not. It is not the toys that are wrong it is the Dabbing Leprechaun Chick Fil A St. Patrick’s Day Shirt the toys represent. The fact you mention she may want to be a doctor suggests you think a doctor is a man’s profession – your bias, not the children. Also, the fact that society pays doctors twice as much, looks to them with respect and pats nurses on the heads as the little angels they are for working so hard for so little, may have something to do with it.
They are persuaded by the influences put upon them by the adults who oversee their upbringing. Let children be children, use their own imaginations and grow to be what they want without all this gender tampering. Adults need to let children learn through experience and balanced education instead if indoctrinating 5-year-olds into political correctness. Why don’t they just let children be children and let them find their own way in life. What does it matter what they play with and whether it’s aimed at boys or girls.
Most children decide what they want to play with. I’ve seen boys play with dolls and prams and girls play with cars and football etc and this was when my children were little and they’re in their 40’s and 30’s. Stop taking their childhoods away from them it’s short enough. Absolute nonsense children have played doctors and nurses for years and it hasn’t prescribed their career choice. Most of these problems are in the eyes of the Dabbing Leprechaun Chick Fil A St. Patrick’s Day Shirt, not those who play. Let them play what they like but encourage them to reach for the stars.
