Look, society has made it that kids have zero time to just play and have independent thought to be creative. No spontaneity. If you’ve noticed, all of the games kids are playing are sandbox games. Minecraft, Roblox, Fortnite.
Kids are recreating the free-thinking environment we had as kids, electronically, because they are not allowed to do it in real life anymore. Fortnite was actually taking over my 11-year-old son’s life and affecting his moods, eating habits, sleeping, conversations – basically taking over. His life. We had to put an and to it. He’s improved since but still asks for the game all the time even after a year. I coach his soccer team and the majority of the boys had the same issue. All they wanted to talk about was Fortnite and you can just tell they couldn’t help themselves. They’re all addicted. I let him my son play other games.
No other game is as absorbing and damaging to him as Fortnite was. My warning to parents. This will have unforeseen consequences. The kids will not develop real social skills. Yes of course some will argue about what about online friends. That is virtual reality. Not really a real thing. Come on people wake up.
